Portico’s annual conference was held earlier this month at The View at The Royal College of Surgeons in London. This year the conference programme was centred around the theme of positivity. We are living in a post-pandemic world with the cost-of-living crisis on our doorstep and we wanted to lift spirits, inject some positivity for everyone and show the great steps Portico is making moving forwards.

This year’s conference welcomed almost 240 Portico people for a day of Portico showcasing recruitment, team support, HR and people engagement initiatives, new service lines, including Portico Safe – a new blended guest services and security offer, and our charity worklike Veterans with Dogs. The day commenced with operations directors Hanna Barrett and Oliver Hiner hosting Portico’s first face-to-face post-pandemic town hall to present achievements of 2022 and outline what’s in store for 2023

Everyone was well nourished with breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea and all delegates enjoyed a whole host of sessions in to help positivity flourish:

Mobile Massage – a 10-minute head and neck massage bringing multiple benefits to include reducing stress, improving posture and boosting mood and immune syste

Listening Practitioner – a 15 min session with our resident specialist Natasha SURNAME to talk through a decision our colleagues are trying to make or an area they are struggling to move forwards in. These sessions concluded with a reflection about what is important and actions to take.

Heartbeat – our Portico’s employee engagement platform team delivered a workshop about how to better connect and collaborate with each other on the app, signing up 70 new users on the day!

Biophilic Design – Planteria joined us to talk about the many benefits of plants in the workplace including the positive effects on productivity, general wellbeing, improved air quality, reduced sickness, and creating a more welcoming environment.

Spine health – Founded Wellness shared the benefits of office-based yoga with a focus on understanding more about maintaining a healthy posture. . We gained greater understanding of how the spine works as well as learning a series of practical exercises and tips for integrating healthy movement into working from home and office life

Following Portico’s annual conference we look forward to even more positivity being shared among our Portico People!
